In brief, I have been dressmaking for over 30 years, have been making accurate, researched period clothing for 12 years and corsets and stays for the last eight. My speciality other than period corsets and stays is period clothing - particularly 15th century clothing although I have made ensembles for Viking, Norman and Victorian together with stays (corsets) for Tudor and 17th Century and am currently working on a project to replicate 18th century stays. My regular customers particularly value garments that have been well made with quality materials and with attention to detail. I regularly adapt my work to suit the environment in which it will be used and my customers needs. eg some period corsetry is designed to look appropriate to the period while allowing the modern inexperienced wearer a degree of comfort that would not have been possible with original materials.
